Oh market research…we’re all taught that we need to ask the “market” if they’re interested in our offer at some point.

Wouldn’t it be terrible if you created something and no one wanted it? Sigh.

“That’s where market research will step in and save you, hooray! Thank goodness for random strangers and their opinions of our life, how else would we survive?”

Except no. No no no no no.

I don’t ask other people what they want me to create because it’s my business, my art, my creation from my soul.

Similar to how I don’t walk up to random people in the grocery store for their advice on which foods I should buy and eat.

“Really? Just Twinkies, Pop Tarts and Cheetos you say?”

Nope.

With love, market research tends to be the new business coach’s way of keeping their clients busy so they feel like they’re getting their money’s worth.

Let me be clear, there’s nothing wrong with recommending a little market research and the coaches who are recommending it typically aren’t doing so with anything but good intentions — heck, I’m pretty sure I used to recommend it in the beginning!

But, you don’t see Oprah doing a poll on social media to see if you think she should create her latest product, show, content, etc.

Why? Because she’s freaking Oprah and leaders LEAD.

Visionaries have VISION.

Innovators INNOVATE.

Creatives CREATE.

If we’re asking everyone else what we should be doing then we never take the time to ask the most important person what they feel would be the most fun way to create more value and be of deeper service.

Know who that person is? YOU. And your SOUL.

I’m not here to regurgitate the information that a random polling of people told me they want from me…I’m here to do SOUL work. I’m here to LEAD, to INNOVATE.

Because if your people aren’t making decisions from love, they’re making them from fear.

Fear based decisions aren’t aligned.

Meaning your people may be shouting from the rooftops that they want you to create a program on funnels, how to create a webinar, social media strategy, etc. but…

If all you really want to talk about is the way astrology affects your energy and therefore your launch (and income and impact) then you’re going to feel like a trapped rat dancing in a slow painful circus trying to make everyone else happy because “that’s just what you have to do to make money”.

Bullshit.

You never have to do something you hate or sacrifice something you love to get the results you desire. That’s a choice.

And the curious thing is, while we’re over here tap dancing to work we KNOW is NOT our soul work, we’re also surprised that we’re not making as much money as we’d like.

Really? You wonder why teaching, coaching, creating on topics that feel like a slow painful death isn’t creating massive abundance, prosperity and inspiration in your life?

Deep down you KNOW what you want to be doing.

You KNOW the work you’re called to share.

You know exactly how you’d like to be paid, how much, in what way and now, thank you very much.

You don’t need to “research the market” — you need to tap into SOUL and unleash your full on badassery into the world, starting now.
