This exercise does a couple things that are going to help you bring your desires into your reality.First of all, you have to get clear on what it is you really desire. And having a specific focus is always the most important piece.For example, let’s say that you’re just getting your coaching business off the ground and what you really desire is to book 3 new clients this month into your $1,000 package.

Fantastic! You have a very specific goal (and ideally you have purpose for that money as well).Secondly, it gets you in motion. You now have at least 3 specific steps that you can start taking action on immediately to move you toward your goal.

You don’t have to have it all figured out from the get-go, you just need at least a couple steps to get you moving.So if we’re staying with the previous example of booking 3 new clients at $1,000 your first 3 action steps could be something like:

And finally, you’ve delegated the pieces of the equation that you don’t really have control of (but can spend endless hours worrying about otherwise) and taken the pressure off of yourself to do everything.Way too many women entrepreneurs wear themselves out by putting all the pressure on themselves to “find” the clients, make the sales and hit their financial goals.And I’m telling you right now that “finding” clients is not part of your job.

I have never “found” a client and I consistently earn over $20,000 a month.

How?

Because clients find me. 

This is the part of my business that I delegate because it is impossible to “find” clients.And honestly it sounds painful as well, right? It makes you into an email or social media lurker, stalking Facebook for your next client.

It doesn’t work and it doesn’t feel good.

You can’t control exactly who’s going to open the email you send out or who’s going to see your sales page or your post in the Facebook group. So stop trying.

What you can do is everything on the left side of the triangle. Be persistent and make your desires a non-negotiable.

One of my favorite quotes right now that I heard one of my mentors, Gina Devee, mention recently is, “Your most powerful form of marketing is your joy.”

And I stand by this 100%.

Yes, have your systems and structures set up. Have a schedule so that your newsletters and solo-mailers are going out regularly. Get really great at one form of marketing like social media.

And then go outside and play! Or go out with girlfriends, write in your journal, read a great book. Don’t sit there staring at your computer screen waiting for someone to sign up.You started this online business so that you could have a great life filled with relaxation, play and connecting with the people you love. So go do that.And I can almost guarantee that while you’re out having a great time and having faith that the Universe has your back, that the new client you’d love to work with is going to reach out to you.

It happens to me over and over again. I’m not out chasing clients down. When I’m not working, I’m out snowboarding in the mountains, spending time with my husband or girlfriends or traveling.

And guess when I get requests from new clients?

When I get cell service after a long awesome day on the slopes, not when I’m sitting in front of my computer hoping someone will reach out.

I’m not saying stop working and go play all the time. There’s a balance. And the last thing I see women entrepreneurs do is play too much and have too much fun.

Be a smart business owner, create packages, write your newsletters, put together a marketing plan.

But also take time to enjoy life and delegate tasks you have no control over like “finding clients” to a higher power like the abundant Universe.
