unnamedDo you ever find yourself totally caught up in someone else’s goals and dreams?

Before you know it a day or two has gone by (or maybe even more) before you realize you’re chasing someone else’s dream life?

Whether it’s hitting a certain level of success in your business, having the dream body, booking 10 more clients, it’s great to get inspired by friends, colleagues and Facebook acquaintances, but be sure you run the whole story through.

What do I mean by “run the whole story through”?

For example, let’s say you’ve got a vacation in a couple weeks and you’ve decided you’re going to drop a couple sizes for the trip. You see yourself going shopping, playing on the beach in that new bikini, it all sounds dandy.

But play the whole story through. To drop a couple sizes in a couple weeks is probably possible, but if you look at the whole story it’s going to require a lot of exercise and most likely a lot of cutting out your favorite foods…well cutting down what you’re eating altogether most likely.

Are you available for that?

There’s no right or wrong, it’s just running the whole story through before you buy the new diet book and stock the fridge with only celery.

Something similar happened to me recently, but business related, the opportunity to be a 7-figure business owner. Yep, a millionaire.

And even though it looked shiny and sounded exciting, something was off. Anytime that I ran through the whole story of what that would mean, who I would need to become to operate at that level…it just didn’t feel right, yet.

You see, it was just a little over a year ago when I was first getting into the coaching industry and was still relatively unknown. Within a short amount of time I got clear on my area of expertise, branded myself and began to consistently sell my signature coaching mentorships which meant reaching my first 6 figures in 6 months.

To make this happen was a blend of hustle, business savvy and staying connected to my intuition. Tools that I love to support my clients in implementing for themselves.

I’d ran the whole story through on what it would take to be a 6-figure business owner.

I invested in a coach who was already earning at that level to guide me.
I worked a part-time job to fund my business in the beginning.
I got a professional website and photos.
I studied my ideal clients until I knew how I could be of greatest service.
I learned how to write great copy and sales pages.
I developed my own system for marketing online for free.
My husband left his job to be my full time business manager.

I took the necessary steps to get to the next level. I was unavailable for anything except “making it”. That was my only option.

But this time around when I played out the whole story on what it would take to step into the 7-figure realm, it just felt off.

I did my homework, I spoke to friends and colleagues who are on the path to their first million this year. I sat down with my mentor who has a mulitple 7-figure business herself. I highly respect all of these women and support them 100% on their paths.

But I’m not actually interested in doing what it would take to consistently earn $83,333 a month…for 12 months. At least not yet.

Maybe I’ll be singing a different tune in 6-12 months? Sure! But right now I insist that there’s a balance between work and play.

I like having a small team and feeling supported.

I enjoy getting to travel and spending evenings and weekends with my husband. Yes, you can earn at a high level and not go into overwork.

But from my experience of initially setting up a business and seeing other women who have million dollar businesses, there’s a birthing phase, a go hard, all in, 100% effort that’s required to get the whole thing rolling…that I’m not interested in right now.

So what I’m asking you to do is play out the whole story.

Don’t play small. These are totally different.

What I’m saying is stay totally connected to your heart. There’s a time for growth and there’s a time for rest.

I’m actually in a space of growth right now (find out more in the p.s. section of this email). But it’s a growth that feels good.

Isn’t that the point of everything we do? To feel good?

To be of service to more people, to get our message out there, to help more women live their dream lives and consistently earn at the level that feels best right now.

Because when you’re connected this deeply to yourself and your desires, you won’t be deterred by anyone else’s success, struggles or otherwise.

You’re on your own path doing what you’re meant to do, right now.

Play out the whole story. If it’s time to hustle, then hustle. If it’s time to hold back a bit and rest up. Do that.

You have infinite intelligence and possibility residing within you. You know what you truly desire next. Go there.

Why I said ‘no’ to a 7-figure business…for now.
