Luke:Jess Bellows beachWe’re finishing up our week in Hawaii and heading to Australia today!

I’ve shared some pics of our trip so far so be sure to scroll through the whole email to soak up some sunshine and beach time.

Yesterday during a drive with a friend (and fellow coach) near the North Shore of Oahu, she asked me what my success rate is with clients.

I hadn’t really thought about it, I focus more on personalized results for each client rather than an overall success rate.

I believe in guiding a client with the action steps they need most, the tools that have worked for me and previous clients, but I can’t guarantee results because I can’t run someone’s business for them.

And on the other side, when my clients have 15K or 50K months there’s no way I would take that celebration from a client and make it mine.

However, I did work out last night that the success rate of my clients creating and selling premium packages (priced between $1200 to $10,000 per package) during their 90 Days to Financial Freedom mentorship is 97.5%!!

Not too shabby, right?? Way to rock it ladies!

But it got me thinking about the pressure I often see coaches put on themselves to “guarantee their clients’ results”.

Have you ever felt this way?

It’s something I hear come up a lot in our group. The fear that if we talk about potential results with our clients, or share them in our marketing or sales pages, that we’re then going to have to guarantee these results with every client.

This obviously brings up a sense of anxiety since it is literally impossible for you to guarantee anything in life.

Think about it. What in life is 100% guaranteed?

Even those money back guarantees you see are typically used to create a sense of security so that someone will make a purchase…because the chances of the purchaser returning something or asking for a refund are pretty small.

This isn’t just in sales or online marketing. Even if you go to a doctor because you’re not feeling well, they too can’t guarantee their recommendations or even that the medicine you may take is going to work.

What they can guarantee is that it has worked for others in the past so the chances of it working for you as well are very high.

The same goes for coaching. I see what has worked for me and for many of my clients and I use that experience and expertise to give the best guidance possible to support my clients in reaching their goals.

So I put together some of my top guidelines to help you get clear on what you have to offer so connecting with ideal clients can be easier than ever:

1. What are the specific results that you can help someone work towards or that you have achieved yourself?

Potential clients are looking for specifics not generalizations. No one’s going to invest $1,000 on a package so that they can “feel better, be happier and do more purposeful work in the world”.

These are desires we all have but they’re not specific enough to inspire someone to pull out a credit card and work with you.

Specific results that potential clients are looking for may include: losing weight, having more energy, having more time, being clear on their offerings, earning more money, how to do a sales call, etc.

2. What are your strengths? What do you love to talk about that comes easily for you but probably not for others?

We often overlook our strengths because we don’t always value what comes easily.

You may be fantastic at helping women connect with their dream partner, you’ve been helping friends with this for years, but it just comes naturally to you so there’s no way it could be valuable right? Wrong.

Check in with yourself, what comes naturally to you that friends, colleagues and family members are often asking you for support with.

3. Are you letting a potential client get you out of reality because you’re wanting to close the sale?

Check in with yourself, how you feel around a potential client, do you feel confident in your ability to support them? Sometimes you’ll connect with someone who is just not in reality about their desires and the timeline.

Let me be clear. I believe in miracles as a regular part of life, I believe that you can make big shifts in your life very quickly and that you can absolutely have a multiple 6-figure if not a 7-figure business.

However, if you have never done coaching before, you’re still working a 9-5, don’t have a website up yet and want to earn $20,000 in the next month, I’m going to check in with you and your expectations.

Is it possible? Of course, anything is possible. But from my experience it’s most likely going to take longer than that and it’s my job as the expert in this area to get you into reality and manage your expectations.

So there you have it!

Get clear on your value, what you have to offer clients and let go of the need to guarantee results.
