Yep, the main way that I’ve built my business, my reach and consistently earn 15K+ every month is based on a single area of marketing.
And honestly, that’s all you need to get started. So let go of trying to master everything at once because you don’t need all of these rolling to have a rocking business: Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, Webinars, Solo-mailers, Video Series, Opt-in Offers, etc.

So where to start?

1. In my opinion, with your favorite form of social media.

For me that was Facebook. I’ve been using Facebook for years just for fun so it was the easiest format for me to pick up on and I knew I’d spend the most time there.
If you Love Twitter or Instagram then focus your time there. All that matters is that you choose one to start.
You know the old saying “Jack of all trades, master of none”? This is exactly what you don’t want to be. I see too many entrepreneurs who are trying to share content across as many social media platforms as possible with the hopes of reaching more people. Instead, this just ends up diluting your message.
In my experience, it’s difficult to connect with and grow a community across multiple social media platforms…if not impossible. This doesn’t mean you can’t expand in the future, but when you do you will most likely have hired someone to do it for you.
After you’ve picked your platform…

2. Schedule in time every week to be active on this platform.

Yeah, I felt kind of silly hanging out on Facebook during my work time in the beginning. But, now it’s shifted for me, Facebook is probably 90% a work tool for me now.
I schedule in time every week to engage in my favorite communities, to post on my page and to interact with others.
Why?

3. To be visible and build credibility

This is the magic! This is where you can lose that fear of coming off as salesy or pushy…by being your Awesome Authentic Self. Engaging with others, being supportive, let yourself be seen and be known for what you’re great at.

How do you do that?

4. By honestly hearing, seeing and interacting with others AND sharing free value packed content like:

  • Recent blog posts
  • A video you created
  • Your kick-ass opt-in offer
  • Or that awesome webinar you’re doing

Yes, there’s definitely more details that go into this. And there’s some specific tools and tips depending on what your goal is, who your ideal clients are, and how much time you have to spend on this style of marketing.

But, by building a community, visibility and credibility on Facebook (without spending a dime on Facebook ads or promotions) I’ve been able to create a 6-figure coaching business.
