One year ago from Sunday (July 27th) I was standing on top of the Continental Divide in a dress and veil that reminded me of Grace Kelly on her wedding day.

I hiked up the side of the mountain to our ceremony in wedges I had covered in several thousand Swarovski crystals (by hand, with a tooth pick and glue…yes seriously). Everything about the day was a dream come true.

We left on our honeymoon about a month after the wedding and that’s when the stress really started to build. I had basically let my health and fitness business dissolve because I had focused so much time on the wedding.

Why did I allow this to happen?

Because deep down I really wanted to be a coach. But I had it in my head that coaches don’t make money so I needed to do something more tangible if I wanted to make a living.

Allowing my business to crumble beneath me was a blessing in disguise. It forced me to hit rock bottom and realize I could either go back to doing what I thought I ‘should’ do or go after my dreams.

I remember so clearly being in the most beautiful location for the two weeks we spent in Hawaii on honeymoon and trying to ignore the stress of “I don’t have the money to be here, I shouldn’t be here, it’s so irresponsible of me to be spending money on this.”

That negative money talk can ruin some of the best moments of our lives. And when I started building my coaching business I was determined to let all of that lack mentality go for good.

Money is an important tool. It amplifies who we really are and helps us enjoy life even more. And somewhere along the way I had completely abandoned my desire to have it.

Not anymore and never again.

One of my mentors told me to build my business like I had built my relationship. Yes there had been some struggle but I knew what I wanted and we persevered. The same is true with your business. Do you know what you really want? Are you willing to give it your all to make sure you succeed?

I can honestly say that looking back on how I felt a year ago, I am not the same person when it comes to money or business. I’m not looking for someone to save me anymore. I don’t feel stuck. I trust myself.

I know what I desire and I’m not afraid to ask for it. This is what I want for you too.

I want you to log in to your online banking or credit card accounts with a sense of delight and joy. I want you to make purchases that support business owners that you believe in. I want you to know you deserve the best in life and if that designer purse helps you feel like the powerful woman you are, well gosh darn it manifest the money and rock it.

 

And I want you to enjoy every moment of your life, especially the big moments, without the stress of money hanging over you. I’m asking you to tolerate nothing less than this.

I was so tired of my own personal struggle with money. And I’m tired of seeing others go through the same experience. Yes it took an investment in myself, it took a leap of faith to finally cross over from that previous life and lack mentality. But I did it, and so can you.

This weekend we’re retracing our wedding location and festivities from last year and it feels amazing to have already booked everything without waiting for someone else to take care of me or for a freebie. To know that we can truly celebrate this weekend without any stress about the cost.

This goes right in line with one of my favorite mantras that I personally use and share with clients:

“The money I invest in myself is returned to me swiftly and exponentially.”

This is what I want for you. To know that money is energy. We’re not meant to grasp for it and hold on tightly. It’s meant to flow through our lives. To come to us and then be invested in experiences, people, products that we believe in and bring joy to our lives. And then it returns to us again. A continual cycle.

So, if you’re tired of feeling like I did on my honeymoon. Living with the fear of not really being able to enjoy and experience life. Then I’m asking you to Let Go of the Struggle. To step into your truth. And to own your experience of this beautiful thing we call life.
