Why don’t we feel more free?

It’s a tough question to answer.

There’s something really painful and frustrating in realizing we create our own experience when that experience hasn’t been all that we’d hoped for lately.

You’ve probably heard me say it before, I’m a Freedom girl. I have to feel free to really thrive.

Free to choose my day, my schedule, my work. I start to feel constricted when I begin to lose these options.

But recently as I sat in my living room pondering what the heck to do and feeling a little stuck in my decision…I realized I had forgotten how to be free!

The options I was giving myself were: do work in my office, watch tv, get a manicure.

Ok wait a second.

The whole point of creating financial freedom was to live an INSPIRED Life.

What’s possibly inspiring about getting up every day and doing the same thing? Where’s the adventure?

And this is where we have to let go of the “Lottery Mentality”. That idea that someday we’ll…win the lottery, find our soul mate, get in shape, create a successful business, etc. etc.

You can fill this sentence in with whatever “Lottery Mentality” you have. But I’m here to tell you that life doesn’t suddenly change. No one hits the ‘Easy’ button after you get rich, find your true love, etc.

And be grateful for that! Life is an adventure and boy would it be boring if you achieved your goals and that was it. You were just on auto pilot for the rest of your life.

Creating a successful business (filled with freedom and a laptop lifestyle) was my “Lottery Mentality”. I thought there’d be unicorns and rainbows when it finally happened.

But strangely enough, not a lot changed.

And that’s when I remembered that nothing will change until I do. You can have your own successful business and still be miserable if you work like you’re back at a 9-5 and treat yourself like the worst boss in the world.

If I want magic in my life, well gosh darnit I have to get out there and create some magic.

Try new things, meet new people, explore!

These experiences aren’t just going to happen to me while I’m sitting on the couch watching reality tv.

And this is your call to action:
What are you waiting to happen so things will finally be better in your life?

Are you waiting for more money? More time? More support from family, friends, and so on?

Well I hate to break it to you, but if you don’t change…your situation isn’t going to change either.

Those words are golden and worth a repeat:

There’s a list of things that I did to take my lifestyle from earning a little more than $1,000 one month to over $10,000 the next (yes, in the span of 1 Month!)

But the #1 tool that I used to make that shift happen fast…
Acting as if it already had!

I’d actually have to stop myself from telling family and friends about my new amazing client or about how my husband and I were planning on wintering in Hawaii because They Hadn’t Happened Yet!

But I had gotten to a place where I almost couldn’t tell the difference. And there’s a whole lot of power in that space.

When you’re living in a place of ‘Acting as if’…Get ready to see some serious magic in your life.

Polish up those acting skills and get ready to start living your dreams!
