Having your own business sounds like a dream come true to many.  And honestly I love it.  The freedom in time, my schedule, my projects, and growing my business in the areas that feel best.

However, what many don’t realize is that if you build your business to be ‘all about you’, you’re setting yourself up to fail.

What do I mean by this?

I come across many lovely and inspiring ladies who want to share something with the world, and I love this.  I love others who follow their dreams, want to create something, and give back to the world.  The problem is, if your business is based specifically off of a talent or skill of your own and you only share it in a ‘dollars to hours’ way, then your business will die anytime that you’re not present.  Or you’ll end up working insane hours trying to keep your business alive which eventually leads to burnout.

Case in point, my wedding last year.

I had built a unique health and fitness business based around personal training, yoga, and health coaching that comes to you.  I loved my work!  But as my business grew it became almost impossible for me to keep up.  There weren’t enough hours in the day for me to train my clients, drive between sessions, and then keep up with the back end of my website and newsletter articles.  I had built my business to be all about me in a ‘dollars to hours’ framework rather than creating options to reach more clients with the same amount of time.

Then in December 2012 I got engaged to my now husband.  We had been together for six years and didn’t want to wait much longer to get married.  We planned the wedding for the end of July 2013, and even though I completely intended on not being a bridezilla, I ended up getting a little overwhelmed with wedding planning.  And since my business was all about me, I pretty much killed it between wedding planning, the wedding itself, and then our lovely two week honeymoon in Hawaii.

I’m now recreating my business, and hopefully doing it smarter this time around.  Creating packages and programs that serve both my clients and my business. And getting really clear on my desires, what I want most out of life without editing myself.

My main goal is creating a thriving community of fellow women who value financial freedom and vibrant health and want the tools, guidance, and support to create this for themselves.

Fellow Entrepreneurs and Life Thrivers, I have the utmost respect for you and consider you my soul sisters. I’m just asking you to get clarity on your life and business as you move forward. Stay focused on how you really want to feel and know that every choice you make is leading you closer or further away from this lifestyle.
